SEATING

A STRIKING ELEMENT MISSING IN THE PARK WAS SEATING.

UNDER A MAJESTIC AND SHADY CALIFORNIA OAK TREE (SEE TOP LEFT
PHOTO) WE FOUND LOOSE COBLES AND BOULDERS THAT WE USED TO FILL FOUR GABION CHAIRS FABRICATED FOR THE SITE.

THE SEATS WERE FITTED WITH LIMESTONE “CUSHIONS” AND THE SURROUNDING AREA WAS TERRACED AND PLANTED WITH SHADE LOVING CALIFORNIA NATIVE PLANTS.

UNFORTUNATELY THIS AREA BECAME A FAVORITE SPOT FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TO HANG OUT IN, AND THE
PLANTINGS WERE DISTURBED BEFORE THEY COULD BECOME
ESTABLISHED. THE SEATS HOWEVER, ARE HOLDING UP VERY WELL.
